Materials from our Second Annual CARe Forum

June 09, 2014 at 4:00 PM

Thank you to everyone who attended our second annual forum on May 22, 2014 to learn more about the concept of Communication, Apology, and Resolution (CARe) following medical injury. We enjoyed many exciting and informative presentations including an overview of the progress MACRMI has made over the past year and new resources available with Alan Woodward, M.D. and Melinda Van Niel, M.B.A., an overview of the CARe process and perspectives from pilot hospitals with Evan Benjamin, M.D., M.P.H. and Ken Sands, M.D., M.P.H., an interim data snapshot for the CARe program with Michelle Mello JD, PhD, and an investigation of adverse events from a patient-centered perspective with Ashley Yeats, M.D. By clicking these links you can download the presentation slides.

Please visit our resource library  to view material discussed at the forum and access other valuable resources for implementing the CARe model. Alternatively, if you weren't able to attend, videos from the forum are available online . Also be sure to check out the trailer for "Full Disclosure: The Search for Medical Error Transparency," a documentary in progress that was screened at the forum.

Thank you to everyone who made our 2014 CARe forum a success. We look forward to seeing you at our third annual forum next year! Be sure to continue following us on Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn to receive all the latest updates on MACRMI and the CARe program.
